Landscape Photography Meetup - Bromley Park - Church House Gardens - 9am - 2 hours
Maximize the depth of field/use a narrow aperture. May need to take shutter speed down and ISO up a little.
Finding a spot that has a foreground and background interest. Think carefully about where you place your camera and tripod.
Take your time. There’s no need to take hundreds of shots at this session, it’s all about taking the time to see and record the landscape around you.
What is the sky doing? If it’s bland and has no contrast, then don’t let it dominate your frame. It is always good to have a slice of the sky so that it can help ‘break up’ the composition in a good way - think the rule of thirds.
Keep an eye on the horizon! Keep them level and watch where you are placing them in the frame - on one of the thirds is best.

We will focus on composition and I will challenge you to express your creativity and curiosity! Bring over a tripod if you own one!

Extra: Tripod Required

Venus De Le Bleu
Venus De Le Bleu is a Lithuanian-born photographer, poet, and Fine Art Photography and Classical Music teacher working in London. Currently studying BA Fine Arts & Photography at the University of Arts London.
Generally, her work consists of immersive poetic imagery concerned with issues of the artist’s existential relationship with the world. With the earlier work artist explores themes of the unseen and the overlooked in the attempt to find transcendent beauty and personal salvation in the everyday life. Refusing to reduce the world into an understandable measure and identity, Venus finds comfort in the unknown mysterious forces of creation and destruction found in everyday life, which she then channels through photography.
Venus’ latest work and ongoing research focus on images' and image-making technology's impact on human perception and memory.
As a Photography teacher Venus aims to provide valuable experience and knowledge of Photography— the magical tool that helps us to find new ways of seeing. Venus’ fundamental objective is to help each student to reveal and re-connect with their own unique way of perceiving the world through their sense of vision.

Photography Meetup: Follow, Bend or Break the Rules? - Greenwich - 10am - 2 hours
We so often think of Photography as a transparent window to past events or as a tool to record them. Photography is everywhere: your phone screen, magazines, news, etc. It is so ingrained in us to think of it as a representation of the real world, but does it have to be that way, does Photography have to be about things it represents?
This session will invite you to think outside the box and provide you an opportunity to experiment in unconventional ways artists use photography to convey an idea or provide an alternative way to see and understand the world through observation.

Class content:
This class will take place in the form of set tasks to be completed. For each task, you will be given 30mins to walk around the area in a group of fellow students focusing on a different idea each time. We will start the class with a short briefing explaining how Photography is used to make objects look good following various composition rules, but because this class is about turning away from traditional ways of looking at objects, you will be given a sheet of ideas and how to 'bend the rules' in order to convey an idea, atmosphere of your choice.
During the entire class, you will be supported by an instructor and be provided with a sheet of inspiring ideas and guidelines to follow for each task.
At the end of the session, we will be sharing our best photographs and share the feedback and advice on how can you develop your ideas further.
This class is suitable for any level of photography skill as this session focuses more on the ideas rather than technicalities.

Saturday the 4th of September 2021
Beginners Photography Class - Hyde Park - 10am - 3 hours
Photography is not the only way to capture the world, but it is undoubtedly the most effective to record what we see. Photographs are everywhere: magazines, book covers, your social media feed, old albums. However, just the way not every posted note is a piece of literature, not every photograph has the power of the work of art.
Whether you are looking to improve your aesthetic language by taking control of your camera's manual settings or you are just thinking of a new hobby – it is always best to get the best result prior to editing and digitally manipulation of your photographs. And there is no better way to do that, than knowing how photography works.
In this class, we will cover all foundations of the technical knowledge you need to start to take professional-looking photographs.
- Starting with a briefing on 'What is Photography' and what is the role of light in it.
- How does your camera react to light and how to manipulate your camera settings according to the quality of light. (This part includes 3 practice exercises focusing on ISO, Aperture, and the Shutter speed according to the light meter built in your camera)
- Explaining and practice to get the right White Balance
-Composition tips
-How to get sharp images (Autofocus, selective focus, manual focus)
Throughout the entire class, you will be supported by our professional photography instructor and you will be provided with a sheet of ideas and guidelines to follow for each task.
At the end of the session, we will be sharing our best photographs and share the feedback and advice on how can you develop your practice further.
